Tibetan 2021 New Year’s – Losar At Home / ༢༡༤༨ ལོ་གསར

Due to the pandemic and concern for public health, Riwoche Temple will remain closed to the public during Losar, the celebration of the Tibetan New Year for 2148, the Year of the Iron Ox.

On the first day of new year, it is important to invite all good and auspicious things into our lives. It is customary for everyone to wear something new and visit the temple to make aspirations and receive blessings for a great year. This year, we encourage everyone to do aspiration prayers at home. The temple is monitoring the pandemic closely and will make subsequent announcements on a reopening date when appropriate.

Covid-19 Statement

Riwoche Temple has made the decision that in order to protect our community and prevent the spread of Covid-19, we will continue to remain closed to the public. We will continue to reassess as the world continues to collectively overcome this difficult situation together.
