Due to the pandemic and concern for public health, Riwoche Temple will remain closed to the public during Losar, the celebration of the Tibetan New Year for 2148, the Year of the Iron Ox.

On the first day of new year, it is important to invite all good and auspicious things into our lives. It is customary for everyone to wear something new and visit the temple to make aspirations and receive blessings for a great year. This year, we encourage everyone to do aspiration prayers at home. The temple is monitoring the pandemic closely and will make subsequent announcements on a reopening date when appropriate.
